20 Years of Marais Press: Imprinting a Campus and Collection
About the Book
Since the 1990s, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Marais Press has produced an array of highly unique fine art prints, created through collaborations between students and visiting artists under the guidance and mentorship of Professor Brian Kelly. Over the years, the Hilliard Art Museum has acquired one print of nearly each edition, leading to the formation of the Marais Press Print Collection. From 2021 to 2022, the museum exhibited more than 250 of these fine art prints under the title Twenty Years of Marais Press: Imprinting a Campus and Collection, and, along with UL Press, created this companion publication of the same name.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is the second-largest university in Louisiana, with more than 19,000 students, and offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in areas ranging from the humanities to hard sciences. UL Press is part of the university’s Center for Louisiana Studies, which is dedicated to researching, publicizing, promoting, and preserving Louisiana's cultures and history.
