Sylvaine Sancton
French-born artist Sylvaine Sancton studied painting, sculpture, and mosaics at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Her works have been featured in U.S. and European galleries and are included in the permanent collections of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Tulane University, the Jazz and Heritage Foundation, and the Historic New Orleans Collection. The author of a previous children’s book, Some Birds (Pelican 2013), she was named a Chevalier (Knight) in the French Order of Arts and Letters in 2017.
